Catuaba, 500 mg, 60 Vegetable Capsules
History
Indigenous tribes of the Amazon rain forest and city dwellers in Brazil have used catuaba bark powder for generations. It is a Brazilian herb promoted for improvement. This supplement can be used by both men and women to enhance pleasure but men may need 2 capsules rather than one.
Suggested Use
As a dietary supplement, healthy adults take one capsule in the morning with or without food, or as recommended by a qualified healthcare professional.
Potency and effectiveness
Q. Which of these herbs are more potent, avena sativa, ginseng, damiana, catuaba bark, maca, tongkat ali herb, tribulus terrestris or yohimbe bark?
A. Much depends on the dosage used and the extract potency. Generally tongkat ali is quite potent, and so is yohimbe. Tribulus terrestris and catuaba are similar. But keep in mind that they each work in different ways. Some people respond better to one herb than another. We prefer combination formulas that take advantage of the benefits of each herb. One such excellent combination formula is Passion Rx with Yohimbe which is our bestseller.
Side effects, adverse reactions, danger
No major side effects have been noted thus far. High dosages could lead to increased body temperature and excess energy and quick heart rate. More than 2 capsules a day can lead to insomnia.

How it works, review
The substances found in catuaba bark include alkaloids (catuabine A, B, and C), tannins, aromatic oils and fatty resins, phytosterols and cyclolignans. The mechanism of action regarding its properties and its benefits is currently not well understood. It is not clear whether it influences levels of dopamine, nitric oxide, testosterone, other hormones, or works in a different pathway. Nitric oxide is a chemical in the body that helps dilate blood vessels. Human research is limited with catuaba bark and extract.
