Chrysin is a natural, biologically active plant flavonoid compound extracted from many plants, honey and bee propolis. Chrysin (5,7-Dihydroxyflavone) is also found in the plant Passiflora, a member of the passion flower family. Combining with testosterone prescription hormone
Q. I am taking testosterone by prescription given to me by my doctor. Would taking a chrysin supplement interfere with the testosterone?
A. We have not seen any studies that combine chrysin supplements along with the use of testosterone, so we don't know. If your doctor approves, you can take a chrysin supplement twice a week at first to see if any interactions occur before increasing the frequency of use.
Q. There are claims that chrysin stimulates the release of testosterone. Is this true? I want to use it for bodybuilding.
A. Since chrysin 500 mg is available as an herbal supplement, some users, for instance body builders, are taking chrysin 500 mg at one or more capsules a day with the hope of raising testosterone levels or stimulating testosterone production.
